Mustafapasa (Sinasos)
Today's Mustafapasa, which was used to be an
Old Greek village before, was remembered with the name Sinasos( means
city of the sun), before the exchange of population was done 1924.
It is 5 km far away from Prokopios,
Today's Urgup.
Present the 50 percent of the population is
locals and the rest of the population is the community forced to move
from Greece to Mustafapasa and the Greeks living in this area actually
in whole Turkey was sent back to their own homelands.There is a great
interaction between the locals and immigrants today, succesfull in passing
their blended culture and traditions to next coming generations.
Mustafapasa is very well known & well
visited town, attracting people with its unique and exclusive stone
houses and mansions with a very intrecate stone carvings.The town was
used to be very famous among the merchants travelling around in Turkey
before.
Most of the people live on tourism and
agriculture in the town to earn their living.
The Kapadokya Private University, founded in
2004, brought a different atmosphere to the village, mostly
concentrating on the local artworks and activities such as; Hot air
ballooning, horse back riding, Wine Producing, Tourims & Guiding,
pottery etc..
